Message from the CEO – The growing concern of cyber threats and the need for company directors, business owners, business leaders and management teams to take proactive steps to protect their organisations
As CEO of REDD, one of the leading Technology and Security providers in Queensland, I want to address the growing concern of cyber threats and the need for company directors, business owners, business leaders and management teams to take proactive steps to protect their organisations. Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue but an existential business risk that requires the attention and investment of every company.
In Australia, we’re witnessing a significant surge in cyberattacks, particularly ransomware, which can render a business offline for weeks and result in significant financial and reputational damage. Personally identifiable information can also be compromised, leading to legal and regulatory consequences. It really is a question of “when”, not “if”, should you not have the appropriate safeguards in place.
As directors, business owners, and leaders, you have a responsibility to prioritise cybersecurity in your risk management strategy and invest in appropriate security technologies. This includes establishing clear policies and procedures, conducting regular employee training, and implementing robust security measures.
At REDD, we understand the importance of cybersecurity and have partnered with Arctic Wolf to provide a comprehensive Managed Security solution that can help safeguard your business against cyber threats.
Arctic Wolf is a proud sponsor of the Red Bull Formula One team. The REDD executive and I will be joining the Arctic Wolf team and a select group of industry experts on the track this weekend at the Melbourne Grand Prix to discuss the pace of change not only on the track but in the world of cybersecurity.
In the lead-up to the F1, on REDD’s LinkedIn page and website, we will be sharing valuable cybersecurity insights from our recent interview with Arctic Wolf executives Lane Roush, Steve Craig, and Steve Hunter. In addition, this week, we will post a podcast with Darren Hopkins, Partner at McGrathNicol, and head of the McGrathNicol Cyber and Forensics practice nationally.
Don’t wait until it’s too late. Take cybersecurity seriously and protect your business from potential threats. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or would like to discuss specific real-world examples.
